Dressing Your Top Table: Icicle Wedding Lights
Written by: Ella Carpenter
Icicle lights are just for draping along your guttering in winter when it’s snowing, right? Wrong. Icicle lights have a great number of uses, as demonstrated by our friend Victoria Crighton of All Dressed Up in Scotland, who used our connectable icicle lights to brighten up the top table at a wedding she styled earlier this year. Using multiple icicle lights powered from a single plug, Victoria expertly draped the top table lights behind a swag of sheer white organza, creating a totally magical point of focus for the reception.
Using icicle fairy lights behind fabrics like this can really add some drama to your top table, especially if you’re holding your wedding breakfast in a room as striking as the one Victoria dressed. You can even add extra sparkle by matching the icicle lights with some wedding table decorations, be it fairy lights, wedding candles or tea lights. If traditional warm white isn’t your thing, try a crisp ice white LED instead, or go big with colour by matching your wedding top table lights to your bridesmaids’ dresses.
Attaching the icicle fairy lights to the table is a piece of (wedding) cake. All our low voltage icicle lights are supplied on a lightweight (but super-durable) PVC cable, so a few strategically placed picture hooks spread out along the length of the wedding table’s edge will have no trouble holding the icicles, and as the cable on our icicle lights is clear, it will blend easily into any colour fabric. Simple.
